Message from President Tom

I was introduced to Rotary by a past member of the Cary-Kildaire Rotary Club after my family and I returned to the Raleigh area in 2018. He had just returned from a District-sponsored service project in the Dominican Republic, and as he shared stories from the trip, his excitement and sense of purpose were contagious. It was clear that Rotary had made a meaningful impact on his life.
Growing up, I was familiar with civic organizations because my father was a Lion. I understood the value of service, but I had never experienced the camaraderie, energy, and sense of belonging that I felt when I attended my first Cary-Kildaire Rotary Club meeting.
Our club is united by a shared commitment to service and making a difference. We award scholarships to local high school seniors, volunteer throughout our community, support international humanitarian projects, and contribute to Rotary's ongoing mission to eradicate polio. Along the way, we build lasting friendships through fellowship, service projects, and events that bring us together with a common purpose.
What makes our club truly special is the diversity of its members. We come from many different professions, backgrounds, and life experiences, yet we are all driven by the same desire—to serve others and be part of something greater than ourselves. As members of Rotary International, we are connected to a global network of more than 1.2 million people who are committed to creating positive, lasting change.
If you're curious about Rotary or what makes the Cary-Kildaire Rotary Club such a rewarding place to serve, I'd be happy to share my experience. Just ask—I always enjoy talking about our club, our members, and the difference we're making together.
Tom Finigan
Cary-Kildaire Rotary President
